Retro Gaming and Computing Night

We’re going to have our own retro gaming and computing night similar to the ones they have at the Makers Local 256 makerspace in Huntsville, AL.

Any computer or game console made in the year 2000 or before is considered retro and will be allowed in.
We’ll put up the bat-signal to ask our members to bring any old computers you have collecting dust but still operates. Old Apple IIe with Oregon Trail? Check. Commodore 64 with Wizard of Wor? Yep. Old Sega Genesis with Sonic the Hedgehog? Check. Nintendo Virtual Boy 3D gaming console? Check!* We’ll also have the MAME cabinet up and running and will have a classic game tournament: Joust, Donkey Kong, or Ms Pac Man with custom laser cut acrylic medallions for the top three!

The event is free for all ages and will be fun for all!

*not all the games and consoles listed will be available and are only listed here as an example of games and systems that are considered “retro”.

You can RSVP on our MeetUp page. No RSVP necessary, but we’d like to know how much snacks to bring to accommodate everyone.
