James Dinsmore, our newly elected facilities manager, has been facilitating the heck out of our space. A crew got together this morning and put up new shelving and got some dedicated workstations set up. Amazing job James! Thank you! This also inspired the Tetris group to get our banners hung up again.
Scratch is a fun way to get started with computer programming. Children as young as 8 (or adults! ) can quickly learn to play sounds, draw pictures, and make interactive games, while learning basic concepts such as loops that give a good foundation for future learning. Our Makerspace was invited to teach technology at a scout day camp. Tony Bellomo and Gene Wade set up shop at Wickham park and hosted ~300 boy and girl scouts to teach them about 3d printing, CNC Routing, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and programming with scratch.
