4th Annual Retro Game Night Recap

We had another great Retro Game Night held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This is the event where we bring all of our old video game consoles and hand held and computer systems that were released before the year 2000.  This year we had the original Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, and Nintendo Virtual Boy again.  Someone even brought an old TRS80 computer with a few game cartridges.  To show what handheld computers were like in the late 90’s to early 2000’s someone brought in a Palm Pilot with a foldable, portable keyboard.  We even had a visitor bring in their Nintendo 64 for some Mario Kart 64 races with 4 controllers.  For the other stations we had set up a few raspberry pi computers with RetroPi software and some USB controllers.  On those you could pick from hundreds of games from several systems like the original Atari, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and many more.  There were so many people that we didn’t have enough game systems for everyone.  We’ll make sure to set some more up next year.  We also had pizza from Old School Pizza and other snacks and soda during most of the event.  That part was a big hit because it ran out just over 3/4 of the way through the night!  Remember to come to our next Retro Game Night to be held the Saturday after Thanksgiving next year.
